Main street USA (4th of July)

Happy 4th of July!

Thank you to every American who came before and sacrificed so much to make this celebration every year a possibility.

Santa's workshop (somewhere in the North Pole)

6 months until Christmas!

It's over 100 degrees and I just saw my first Christmas ad.  It's official!  It may be summer but the countdown has already started.

Glowing Grand Central (NYC)

Sunset in NYC

There's a lot of ways to see a sunset.  One that I just discovered is to watch it reflect off Grand Central.  The colors just get brighter and brighter. No wonder NYC is magic.  Sometimes it just glows!

Between Colorado and Arizona (United Airlines flight)

View from the air

I don't often take pictures from planes.  But I seem to be in so many planes, cars, trains, etc. these days that I started really looking at what travel "looked" like.  Imagine my delight at the day I looked down and saw this.  Rugged red rocks with the sun just drawing out the deep hues, unmelted snow sitting on the flat mesas and deep forested ravines.  Purple mountain majesty for sure!

Locks of love (Paris, France)

The weight of love

I read an article that Paris officials have decided to remove the bridge after at least 2 meters of it collapsed under the weight.  All that love was just too much for it to bear.  I wanted to pay tribute to all those locks so I dug through my photos and am posting this image from the fallen bridge. . . Here's to love living on.

Bed & Breakfast in Massachusetts

When one door closes

Then look for the open window.  A hump day reminder to focus on the things that matter.  I spent several minutes making sure I listened to the bells on this Massachusetts island while the breeze carried me away.

Beach dreams (New England, USA)

Monday morning beach blues

Working hard . . . to remember what a beach and a vacation feel like.  This photo from New England helped.
